Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cafe Assistant to join our team.

On a 12 month maternity cover contract.

3 x 8.75 hours shifts per week

Tuesday 7:45-5

Wednesday 7:45-5

Saturday 7:45-5

As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized cafe environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food and customer service.

**Duties**:

- Assist with food preparation, including cutting, slicing, and assembling ingredients
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe, including counters, and equipment
- Stocking shelves and refrigerators with necessary items
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £11.50-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 26.25 per week
