Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This position involves supervising housekeeping staff, assisting with the rotas, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all housekeeping activities comply with the hotel's high standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Supervision and Training**:
- Lead, train, and mentor housekeeping staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to maintain cleanliness and quality standards.
- Address any performance issues or deficiencies with staff promptly and effectively.
- **Scheduling and Coordination**:
- Create and manage work schedules for housekeeping staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Coordinate with the front desk and maintenance departments to address guest requests and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure timely and efficient turnover of rooms for incoming guests.
- **Quality Control**:
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
- Implement and maintain housekeeping standards and procedures.
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, placing orders as needed.
- **Guest Interaction**:
- Handle guest complaints and requests related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Ensure that all guest interactions by housekeeping staff meet the hotel's standards of hospitality and service.
- **Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including room inspections, inventory, and staff performance.
- Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping operations to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Assist in budget preparation and implement cost control measures.
- **Health and Safety**:
- Ensure that housekeeping staff follow health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular training sessions on safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
Qualifications:
- **Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional certification in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in a hotel or similar hospitality environment is preferred.
- **Skills**:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- **Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy items, such as linens and cleaning supplies, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as bending, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- The work environment is fast-paced and may involve handling stressful situations and multiple priorities simultaneously.
