Payroll Officer

Our client who specialises in the manufacturing has enlisted FRS to support with the recruitment of a Payroll Officer to join their team based in Corby.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the payroll process has been carried out in line with the required deadlines for 4-weekly and monthly payrolls.
Key Duties:
- Collate all payroll data ready for 4-weekly and monthly payroll submissions and process accordingly including calculation of variable pay elements (shift change, overtime, holidays and other absences)
- Input / update and review relevant data in the time & attendance and payroll systems
- Review approved hours to ensure accuracy of payment
- Identify, investigate discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records
- Respond to payroll queries within a timely manner
- Manage related reporting (HMRC and Pensions)
- Calculate average holiday pay
- Produce payroll reports and process payments
- Any other ad hoc duties to support Finance and HR Teams
- CIPP / Payroll Technician certified or working towards (desirable but not essential)
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Functional Software (Payroll and Time & Attendance)
- Previous experience in a similar role (at least 2 years)
- Up to date knowledge of payroll and HMRC related legislation
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- A positive and proactive approach
- A team player and good influencer
- Comfortable working in an open, task orientated culture
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of staff across the company
In return my client can offer a salary of upto £30,000 per annum along with benefits.
