**Student Planner - Grade A**

**About the role.**

An opportunity has arisen for a keen and enthusiastic student planner on a one-year fixed term contract to support the delivery of its planning service. The post holder will get the opportunity to undertake a range of planning work throughout the year in the Spatial Planning Team.

As a member of the Spatial Planning Team you will learn and build skills and assist in the preparation of the Gateshead Local Plan and other planning documents including digital projects. You should have a reasonable knowledge and experience of spatial planning practice, procedure and legislation. It is essential that you have good oral, written and communication skills and are computer literate.

**You must have knowledge and experience of **
- The UK Planning system and government planning advice
- Well developed planning and IT skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Working within a team
- Working on own initiative and taking responsibility
- Managing own workload

**You must have the following qualifications.**
- Undertaking a relevant degree course or equivalent
