Utopia Supported Housing has been providing supported housing for young people in need since 2016 with houses covering Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne. We work with local authorities to provide a high-quality provision where young people can safely grow and be given the chance to create a positive future.

Utopia Supported Housing will become a regulated service working under OFSTED regulations and will continue to provide the highest standards of support.

We are looking for Outreach Key Workers who will support young people between 16-18 years become independent, learn how to develop basic living skills and gain the confidence to live a good quality of life independently. This will involve travelling across our accommodation settings within Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne to hold key working sessions with young people and also taking young people to appointments and out in the community to help build their independence and confidence.

Are you an independent individual with excellent like skills that has experience of working with young people who may have had traumatic backgrounds, emotional & behavioural difficulties, childhood trauma and complex behavioural needs or do you have excellent life skills and a caring, empathetic & supportive qualities that you feel may make you an excellent outreach key worker.

Full job description will be provided at the next stage of recruitment or sooner upon request. This position will require
- Use of IT systems
- Good knowledge of general life skills, opening banks, benefit claims, health care appointments, nutrition & cooking, cleanliness and hygiene, education, employment, completing forms etc.
- Organisation and punctuality. Being able to arrange a busy diary of key working sessions across East Sussex.
- Good at building rapports
- liaise with local authorities and accompany young people to appointments with local authorities and solicitors.
- Supporting service users from traumatic backgrounds who suffer emotional, behavioural and complex needs.
- Adhere to strict safeguarding & child protection polices
- Portray a good understanding of equality & diversity

What We Require from a Outreach Key Worker
- Experience of working in a similar setting is desirable however, not essential
- To hold a Level 4 Children, young people, family practitioner apprenticeship or be willing to work towards this qualification while working with us is mandatory
- Knowledge of OFSTED is desirable however, not essential

**Salary**:
£10.50 per hour.

COVID-19 precaution(s):

- Sanitisation, disinfection or cleaning procedures in place. Vaccinations and masks are not mandatory.

**Job Types**:
Contracted to zero hours. Shifts can be claimed using Rota Cloud, this gives employees the chance to choose their working pattern. Maximum working hours is 45 hours per week.

Schedule:

- Utopia Supported Housing is staffed Monday to Sunday, 365 days a year and 24 hours per day.
- Working hours can vary from 09:00-17:00, 08:00-23:00 & 08:00-22:00. Weekends included.
