**Based at The Register Office, City Hall, Centenary Square, Bradford, BD1 1HY**

We are looking for individuals who are committed to undertaking an **Advanced**Apprenticeship in Business Administration, Level 3. The Department of Corporate Resources would like to recruit an apprentice to join our dedicated Registration Services team delivering the duties prescribed by statute, regulation and instruction in respect of the registration of Marriage Ceremonies.

**To qualify for the apprenticeship you must have GCSE Maths and English at Grades A-C or 4-9 or a minimum of Level 1 or above in Maths and English.**

**To meet the apprenticeship funding requirements, you must be entitled to work in the UK and have been a resident for 3 years.**

Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment, training and the range of job activities within where it is possible for you to complete your full apprenticeship.

All applicants should have a good standard of education (GCSE A* - C or equivalent), a smart appearance, neat legible handwriting, good keyboard skills and the ability to record accurate information.

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

- 1. To register marriages at the Register Office, any other registered building or

Approved Premises and if necessary, at some other place by Registrar General’s

Licence or at the premises of a housebound or detained person.

2. To acknowledge receipt of fees.

4. To deal with telephone and personal enquiries about all aspects of registration

procedures, taking advice as appropriate. This will include obtaining information

5. To be the main point of contact for members of the public attending to register a

birth, death or stillbirth and book in each client

6. To have a knowledge of the appropriate computer software and registration on

line with regard to the registration of marriages and civil partnerships and the issue

of all types of duplicate certificates.

7. To book appointments for customers wishing to register a birth.

8. Manages resources e.g. equipment or facilities.

9. Organises meetings and events, takes minutes during meetings and creates action logs as appropriate.

10. To carry out other duties as required, which are reasonable in terms and nature of

the level of the post.

The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications of the role by the end of the training programme.
