We are a childcare provider in the City of Cambridge. We provide **Breakfast**, **After School** and **Holiday Clubs** for children aged between 4 - 14 years. We are a self-directed play-based provision and we are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our teams We are specifically looking to recruit a play worker for our Bourn setting, which opens for breakfast and afterschool

Our Playworkers tell us that they **love working with us**. We are looking for individuals who have a focus on care & quality, can lead teams and (goes without saying) **love working with children**.

**Main Purpose**: To provide a fun, caring and safe environment through a range of individual and group activities, for children between the ages of 4 and 11.
- To be responsible for the care of all children and ensure that their play opportunities are met
- To enable the child to develop in different contexts: social, emotional, physical and intellectual through play
- To be a role-model, lead activities and be directly involved in the care of children
- To report any concerns or problems to the playleader or deputy playleader

**Hours of work**:

- **Part time hours 25 hours a week during term-time. Shifts are 7.30-9.00am and/or 3.00-6.00pm**:

- Optionally up to 40 hours per week during the holidays. Shifts are Morning, afternoon or all day (7.30-6pm).

**Requirements**:

- Level 2 or 3 Qualifications in play work or childcare would be an advantage but not essential
- If you are willing to work towards these qualifications, training and development is available.

**Location**:Willingness to move around to any of our settings within Cambridge City and surroundings would be beneficial (CB1, CB2, CB4, CB23 and CB24), however we can base you at one preferred 'home' setting.

**Duties and Key Responsibilities**:

- Meet and greet new and existing children and settle them into activities, as well as giving guided tours to new families
- Set up play spaces and resources so children can play independently
- Organise planned activities with the children
- Prepare and provide snacks for the children
- Support children’s play needs by either joining in or supervising in an unobtrusive manner
- To be supportive of the playleader and put forward new ideas and suggestions.
- Be responsible for the children in your direct area, being aware of their individual needs including medical, dietary and behavioural needs
- Be aware of changes in children’s friendships, proactively encouraging their socialising and play

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: £10.00-£15.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cambridge, CB23 2SP: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- playwork: 1 year (preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
