Over 20 years of pursuing this mission, they have been successful in moving thousands of drug dependent offenders away from a lifestyle revolving around crime, and drug or alcohol dependence.

**What you will be doing?**

You would be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and this involves collaborating with SMS Clinical and psychosocial teams, primary healthcare providers, mental health and Prison teams.There are many opportunities to develop new skills and thisrole is ideal for NMP’s seeking to broaden their knowledge and understanding of caring for high risk adults often with complex bio-psychosocial needs. They emphasise good collaborative working across teams and regular cross functional meetings to encouragelearning and development within the team.

As part of this role you will need a qualification in Non-Medical Prescribing and have specialist knowledge in substance misuse and be able to provide advice and guidance to GPs and other relevant professionals and service users on opiate substitute prescribing,alcohol and Benzodiazepine detoxification and symptomatic relief.

You will be expected to provide thorough assessment and develop an evidence based clinical management plan for clients identified as having a dependency. The role will focus on initiating prescribing of and/or make amendments to prescriptions of opiate and/oralcohol substitute treatments and other related medications.

You will be required to take a lead role in the prescribing clinics alongside the SMS clinical team and provide clinical support and supervision of junior members of staff.

You will be expected to contribute to governance and audit, ensuring that service delivery focuses on the quality agenda and that dignity, privacy and respect is afforded at all times to service users.
