**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Systems Development Apprentice who has an interest in IT systems, software, networks, cyber security. In fact, all things technical, is required for an Airport Systems Development Apprenticeship.

Working as an IT Systems Development Apprentice you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working closely with the Airport Systems Development Manager whilst working toward a Level 4 Applications Support Lead Apprenticeship.

As an IT Systems Development Apprentice you will be responsible for ensuring the Airport systems are up to date and developed in accordance with business needs and to support the future success of Farnborough Airport Limited.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as an IT Systems Development Apprentice will include:

- The apprentice will initially be working alongside the Airport Systems Development Manager to support in the evaluation of both present and future company needs for the Airport’s Operational Systems (systems relating to the handling of and service deliveryto air traffic movements and those which interface with them)
- As the Apprentice develops and expands their experience, they will be expected to co-lead these activities
- Assist in the planning and roll out of training for the ongoing improvements and new implementations of Airport Operational Software
- Initially the Apprentice will take on a supporting role in managing the development of said systems but will work towards a more leading role with the final aim of being able to manage, with support, the end-to-end project implementation for new software/changes
- Complete the system administration of Airport Operational Systems, including:

- Developing workflow pans/technical specification road maps
- Diagnosing, resolving and recommending improvements to address hardware and software issues
- Liaising with third party vendors on improvements and resolution of issues
- Ensuring products comply with applicable regulation and legislation including Data Privacy and Cyber Security
- Work toward becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Airport Operational Systems
- Support in evaluating and streamlining of Airport Operations data flows
- Keep up to date with the latest airport IT technologies

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Full, clean Category B (Car) driving license
- Must be able to meet CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) security clearance requirements
- Excellent standard of accuracy and professionalism
- Excellent technical and computer skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the confidence to communicate at all levels of the organisation
- High attention to detail
- Time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Willing, engaging attitude with an eagerness to develop professionally
- Innovative and outward thinking
- Solutions focussed with a strong aptitude for analytical thinking
- Some experience of working in a project related environment is desirable
