Social adVentures have an opportunity for a maintenance operative to join our team. The role is offered on an initial 6 month fixed term contract with opportunity to extend.

This role involves working across multiple sites including a community centre, children’s home and childcare nurseries all within Salford and Prestwich. A company van is provided.

You will be responsible for carrying out day to day maintenance at our sites to ensure our service facilities are safe, efficient and functional. This will include both planned and reactive maintenance.

You will be organised and efficient with the ability to problem solve and use your own initiative.

Key responsibilities
- To provide high standard repairs, maintenance and decorating across our business portfolio
- Working at the forefront of the business with daily interaction with managers and staff teams
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance works within the maintenance budget
- To be the first contact for Out of Hours emergencies and call outs at all Social adVentures premises, to attend site out of hours to evaluate any damages or necessary security breaches.
- Order and manage equipment and consumables to enable fixes, as required
- Undertake health and safety checks and property inspections.
- Be a key holder for our properties.
- Carry out statutory compliance inspections as needed.
- Ensure the general appearance of sites are maintained in accordance with the required standards

Experience & skills
- Experience of completing repairs and planned maintenance.
- Experience in decorating.
- Some experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and decoration desirable
- Undertaking periodic health and safety and statutory compliance testing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to diagnose and complete cost-effective repairs in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, positive attitude and able to work under own initiative.
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use word and excel to maintain maintenance job lists.
- Strong organisation and time management with a good attention to detail

**Requirements**:

- Ability to act independently, prioritise work and make decisions whilst having the judgement to know when to discuss with management.
- Full, clean driving License
- Have own tools, equipment and basic power tools.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
