We are seeking to appoint qualified and experienced Residential Care Workers to work on a full time basis in our residential children’s care home in Wigan. Future Focused Care aims to ensure that its most vulnerable children's needs are met and their life chances are maximised to enable them to achieve their full potential.

As a residential care worker you will join an organisation where the focus is on achieving the best possible outcomes for the children and families we work with.

**Purpose of Job**:
To be part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional well being of the young people and assist in their positive holistic development.

‪ **Duties and Responsibilities**:

- ‪To work shifts including weekends, accountable to the Registered Care Home Manager.
- ‪Development of positive childcare practice in line with the aims and objectives of Future Focused Care.
- ‪To work in a cohesive environment focusing on positive outcomes for children.
- ‪Adherence to Future Focused Care’s policies and procedures.
- ‪To work to a rota as set out by management which will include sleeping and waking nights.
- ‪Source opportunities for each child, providing support where required, in the areas of; education, leisure, mental health, physical health and general development.
- ‪To develop positive attitudes with residents with regard to the fabric, furnishings, equipment, supplies and services in/or to the home and to support them in all domestic aspects of both their own personal space and communal areas of the home.
- ‪To accompany the young people on activities when required.
- ‪‪To maintain high levels of cleanliness ensuring all communal areas of the home are clean and tidy.
- ‪To carry out household duties, shopping, cleaning, cooking and generally ensuring that the household and garden areas are maintained to create a safe environment.
- ‪To accept responsibility for monies as may be required in carrying out necessary duties.
- ‪To maintain records for each young person, reflecting the implementation of care plans and to assist in the provision of reports when required.
- ‪‪To be available on an on-call basis to cover staff at short falls and/or operational emergencies.
- ‪To ensure appropriate security and confidentiality of information regarding records and tasks undertaken as required by the Data Protection Act.
- ‪ Any other duties as may be required and directed by senior staff.
- ‪To undertake training as required.

**Required Experience**
- **Essential Requirements**:

- Over 21 years of age
- Full UK driving license held for a minimum of 12 months
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Pay: £11.50-£11.70 per hour
