**Head of Andover Foodbank**
The Andover foodbank helps those in crisis across the Test Valley. It does this by providing emergency food boxes and other items in partnership with local agencies and charities.
We’re looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and resourceful individual to take on the role of Head of Andover Foodbank. This is a demanding but rewarding post which offers the opportunity to be part of a local charitable operation with significant social impact. You will be making an important contribution to your community and helping local people.
The position is part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday based around the opening hours of 9:00-13:00. Flexibility in hours is required. You will need to undertake a DBS check.

**Hours**:Part-time: 25 hours per week
**Role outline and purpose**:
1. To develop and manage the Andover foodbank to provide emergency food to people in crisis and ensure support is in place for those in need
2. To work in partnership with the Committee to guide the strategic and practical development of the foodbank, including stewardship of its material resources, financial assets and Christian ethos
3. To lead and motivate the staff and volunteers
**Role responsibilities**:
- Strategy and development_
- Create project strategy and agree with Committee
- Manage the foodbank plan and budget
- Research and develop new support creatively seeking opportunities to help those in need
- Develop and manage seasonal projects
- Develop and manage projects with external stakeholders e.g. Fuel Bank and CAB
Caseworker
- Monitor feedback and project outcomes
- Represent Andover foodbank in local partnerships e.g. Andover Vision or Test Valley
Partnership
- Represent Andover foodbank at Trussell Trust regional foodbanks cluster meetings and national conference or webinars
- Fundraising and Finance_
- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to ensure the foodbank is sustainable
- Comply with the foodbank’s finance policy and provide details of payments and receipts
- Management of staff and volunteers_
- Manage and develop the Warehouse Supervisor and Volunteer Manager
- Complete personnel administration
- Ensure the foodbank has adequate numbers of trained volunteers available
- Warehouse and stock management_
- Ensure that the foodbank has adequate donations and is running effectively: including sorting, packing, stock rotation, monitoring stock requirements, issuing stock, maintaining accurate records and disposal of unsuitable items
- Take joint responsibility for the buildings, contents and security of the warehouse
- Ensure good practice and compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental
Health requirements
- Office and data management_
- Ensure accurate and secure records of client and warehouse data
- Use data to analyse stock levels and demand
- Ensure that enquiries are dealt with efficiently and promptly
- Liaise with the Warehouse Supervisor and office volunteers to order stationery and materials
- Relationship management_
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies and clients to ensure that those in crisis receive support and that the services provided by the foodbank are developed or improved
- Develop and maintain relationships with Diocese, Parish, churches of different denominations, schools, youth groups, businesses, donors, and the wider community to encourage support for the foodbank
- Public Relations_
- Manage communications with the local community and stakeholders including talks, presentations, newsletters and social media
- Support the issue of press releases and respond to local press enquiries
- Trussell Trust and Diocese compliance_
- Comply with the terms of the foodbank franchise, including standard operating procedures
- Undertake the annual Quality Assurance visit from The Trussell Trust with the
Warehouse Supervisor
- Ensure Diocesan policies are complied with at all times and risk assessments updated
- Report to Diocese at meetings providing information in advance
- Communication with Committee_
- Provide weekly updates to Secretary and regular updates to Committee
- Report to the Committee at quarterly meetings, providing information in advance

**Essential skills and knowledge**:
- Ability to lead and manage of team of people including volunteers
- Ability to manage partnerships with multiple external stakeholders
- Experience in the development and implementation of strategy
- Experience in project management, fundraising, community relations, marketing and communications
- Experience in finance and budgetary control
- Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
- Numerate and comfortable interpreting statistical data
- Willingness to engage in practical work, including lifting and carrying in line
