**_ Could you coordinate project activities that provide support to asylum seekers and refugees?_**

We have an exciting new opportunity for a **Project Coordinator** to join our Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links (RSRFL) team.

The purpose of this role is to continue with and further develop our service in the Norwich area. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering the project and will undertake a range of duties designed to develop, maintain and promote our service. We’re seeking a highly organised, creative individual. If you enjoy coming up with new ideas and working in a person-centred environment, we’d love to hear from you
- _there may be an opportunity to pick up 2 extra days for 6 months_

**How you’ll make a difference**

We provide a safe space for vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees, many of whom have left everything behind, entered the county alone. Our team provides casework, destitution and emotional support to refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants living in Norwich and Norfolk, many of whom are experiencing social isolation, trauma and separation while trying to navigate complex legal systems within the UK. Managed by a service manager who splits their time between Norwich and Peterborough, the team are part of a wider East of England refugee support team.

We are all connected by the common goal of supporting people who have experienced displacement to feel safe and live with dignity. This will be a rewarding role; you’ll be making a tangible difference to the people you support and helping our organisation to achieve our mission of supporting people in crisis.

**This role might be for you if**
- You have experience of supporting or working with vulnerable service users
- You have an understanding of issues relating to asylum seekers and refugees, including young asylum seekers and refugees
- You're a team player and a great communicator; communicating effectively in group settings with the ability to adapt your style to suit your audience.
- You're able to support, manage and develop volunteers (previous experience of managing volunteers would be an advantage).
- You're organised; you have great time management skills and are able to plan, prioritise and monitor your own and others’ workload
- You're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize responsibilities in line with agreed business objectives

**About Refugee Support**

Refugee Support provides core services to asylum seekers and refugees, including Orientation and Integration, Destitution Support, Casework, Family Reunion Casework and Integration and Travel Assistance.

The British Red Cross Refugee Support works closely with the refugee sector and wider community partners participating in city wide forums to promote access to services and support integration.

For people in crisis, as a result of their migration status, in need of protection, displaced and often having experienced family loss and separation our Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links team will deliver on our unique position and responsibility as part of a truly global humanitarian organization, present at every stage on the migratory trail to:

- Reduce destitution and exploitation
- Restore family links and facilitate reunion
- Challenge stigma and build inclusion
- Ensure protection and empower people to make positive decisions to regain control of their lives

We will do this by mobilizing the power of humanity through three distinct vehicles for change - advocacy, service delivery and by creating the right environment.

We will engage with our service users and use their experience and evidence to inform our development and delivery and will seek out opportunities to build productive alliances across the UK, wider movement and beyond to enable delivery on our mission at the earliest opportunity.

**What you’ll get in return**

As well as a rewarding role with a global charity, you'll get access to a wide range of benefits, these include:

- 36 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) - pro rata for fixed-term roles
- Option to buy an extra 5 days annual leave
- Up to 6% contributory pension
- Flexible working policy
- Discounts from a range of online and high street retailers
