**Purpose**:
- To lead business compliance for Quality Assurance (QA), Environment and Sustainability with specific emphasis on supporting the businesses approach to responsible sourcing within the supply chain
- Establish the strategy and direction for QA including registered ISO 9001 Quality and 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- Lead and develop the businesses approach to carbon emissions, with particular emphasis to develop its approach on how it should shape its Scope 3 carbon emission responsibility
- Protecting the businesses brand integrity and minimising risk

To ensure that all Products & Suppliers to the business comply with the business and UK legislation on Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements

Skills/Attributes Required*:
Essential: CQI or Experience through Industry / Practical knowledge of supplier assessments /Commercial awareness
**Knowledge**:
Essential: Able to demonstrate up to date and detailed knowledge of Supplier, Factory, ESG and Process audit techniques, and respective international standards/Audit criteria.
**Behaviours**:
Preferred: Manufacturing experience / Quality management tools (Lean, Six Sigma etc )
**Education/Experience Required**:
Essential: 10 years in Quality Management /Experience of ISO 9001 and 14001management systems / Understanding of how a business can approach its Carbon emissions requirements under scope 3
Preferred: Understanding of Technical requirements to support a Retail /Trade business. / Capable to understand and maintain the balance between the integrity of the brand and the commercial opportunity and articulate the rationale behind the decision.

Primary Responsibilities: *
This is a new role and requires someone who can deal with ambiguity and help shape and develop the businesses approach to compliance. Working cross functionally with procurement, warehouse, marketing and sales to develop processes and systems that allow the business to remain agile yet meet its commitments to quality, environment and sustainability.
- Full authority to prevent non-compliant products entering the company.
- Ability to travel globally to carry out QA Audit activities.
- Listed SKU count of c X with a known Supplier base of c Y.
- Full authority to reject non-conforming deliveries into the supply chain.

Detailed Responsibilities/Duties/Principal Accountabilities*
**LEADERSHIP**
To promote best practice across all quality, environment and sustainability requirements
Lead the delivery of the Quality strategy and the communication of key issues and performance against agreed Quality objectives
Ensure the correct level of business registrations are in place (e.g. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001)
Lead by example and support the development of QA to be more commercially aware and champion how QA colleagues can add value to the business. Be instrumental in delivering commercial value from QA, Environmental and Sustainability activity.
Ensure Category resources and workloads are being effectively utilised, delivering projects within agreed timescales.
**RESPONSIBLE SOURCING**
To ensure all policies and processes on responsible sourcing are maintained and support the business in writing the annual Modern Slavery Act statement
The continual review and development of the programme required to ensure existing and new suppliers meet companies’ policies for Quality, Environment Supply Chain ESG, including the evaluation and approval process of manufacturing sites to ensure evolving risk is effectively managed, communicated and mitigated.
Ensure all locations of products are known and regularly reviewed according to risk and the database of information is maintained with latest details. Any areas of unsatisfactory risk are communicated in a timely manner to the Commercial SLT with suitable agreed timely plans are in place to resolve.
