At BPAS we are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join the theatre team in our Oxford unit on a part time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Nurses & Midwives in order to provide the best client care.
You will assist the clinical team to maintain & improve high standards of client care within the operating department & recovery areas of the unit. You will also carry out assigned tasks unsupervised in support of a registered practitioner & care for our clients.
- **Please note this role is to be worked on a Thursday between 08:30-16:30**_
**About You**
You will have experience working in healthcare especially in a hospital, GP practice or operating theatre setting. With a positive “can do” attitude you will enjoy working as a part of a team and be passionate about helping and caring for others.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To assist with the care, support and observations of the client before and after treatment, report findings to the Registered Practitioners.
- To assist in the preparation and serving of refreshments
- Help check and prepare the operating department environment and equipment prior to use, between clients and at the end of a list.
- Undertake counts of swabs, instruments and needles in conjunction with another trained member of the surgical team, and assist the surgical team during surgical procedures.
- To have an understanding of clients' individual needs and to maintain a helpful, courteous approach to clients, visitors and colleagues.
**We are also looking for**:
- Care certificate in healthcare / NVQ Level 3 in health and social care /Diploma in health and support level 3

- IT skills
