Do you want to change lives for the better? Perhaps you enjoy the rewarding aspect of support work, but not the personal care?
I have the job for you
Opus People Solutions are seeking a Youth Worker (Nights) for a residential children's home on the outskirts of Cambridge.
This is a rehabilitative home providing specialist residential and educational services for young males who have a history, and/or significant risk, of harmful sexual behaviour. They are in a rural location bordering Cambridge and Suffolk, so a driving license and your own vehicle are a must.
You will act as a key worker, taking responsibility for the supervision and support of the boys. These are waking night shifts, so you'll need to be awake and alert to carry out any duties required and keep an accurate log of any observations to provide a clear handover to the morning staff. This is an ideal and rewarding opportunity for anyone looking to progress in their career and full mandatory training will be provided.
To be considered, you will have:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within childcare or a similar relevant field
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma Children and Young Persons or willingness to undertake (supported by the organisation)
- Clean and current driving license
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to liaise and negotiate in a sensitive and tactful manner.
- An enhanced DBS check is required which will be covered by the home. You must also be at least 22 years of age; this is a requirement as you need to be 4 years older than the eldest resident in the home.
This organization also rewards its staff with some great benefits, e.g., getting paid for your breaks, an enhanced pension scheme, a blue light card, and free meals and refreshments when on shift
