The role would involve providing clinical services to both inpatients and outpatients, as well as supporting the wider team with supervision, training and service developments. This post requires experience of working into physical health services and specialist knowledge of approaches and interventions required when working with people who live with long term conditions. The post holder may also be required to work into other service areas that are provided by the Department of Psychological Services across other sites.

You would be supported by a Principal Clinical Psychologist in the role.

DPS has more than 30 qualified clinicians, Assistant and Trainee Clinical Psychologists as well as a dedicated team of Administrative and Clerical staff. There are strong links with the University of Sheffield, Department of Clinical Psychology, as well as Leeds and Hull DClinPsy courses. Individual supervision will be available and continuing professional development is strongly supported, as appropriate to the individual’s and organisation’s requirements.

**You will**:

- provide specialist psychological assessment, intervention and consultation and manage your own specialist caseload.
- work with the MDT to support the psychological care of patients
- undertake risk assessment and support other team members with this
- support patients & families transitioning to the adult service from children’s’ services
- use evidence-based interventions
- be required to provide supervision to assistant and graduate psychologists if applicable, as well as non-psychological practitioners.
- support service evaluation and audit activity as appropriate.
- provide appropriate support / training and guidance in psychological care skills to the wider MDT
