**Overview**

Assessment and Qualifications is the largest business division within Pearson PLC and provides both paper-based and computer-based testing around the world.

**Responsibilities**

The Business Continuity Manager is responsible for:

- The implementation, co-ordination and management oversight of existing Business Continuity Management Systems that are certified to ISO 22301. The maintenance of all associated documentation.
- For those parts of Assessment and Qualifications which do not have certification, the implementation, co-ordination and management oversight of Business Continuity measures aligned to ISO 22301.
- The implementation, co-ordination and management oversight of an incident reporting and monitoring framework including, but not limited to:

- Security & Safety Incidents
- Critical (Reputation Affecting) Incidents
- Disruptive (Business Continuity) Incidents
- Supporting all global functions in completing resilience activities including, but not limited to:

- Business Impact Analysis & Risk Assessment
- Emergency Response Preparedness
- Contingency & Recovery Planning
- Training, Assessing Competence and Raising Awareness
- Reviewing the BC preparedness of key vendors
- Plan Testing & Exercising
- Incident Reporting & Management
- Post Incident Review
- Implementation of Corrective & Preventive Actions
- Measuring the Effectiveness of Corrective & Preventive Actions
- Facilitating external and internal audits
- Supporting the Director of Global Business Assurance in ensuring that the business achieves and maintains compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, contractual obligations and best practice.

**Essential Experience & Qualifications**
- Experience of implementing and managing ISO 22301 or equivalent certified management systems.
- Experience of working in a technical and customer focused business environment.
- Ability to help set the business resilience and incident response vision, direction and goals to support the achievement of business objectives.
- Proven ability to successfully communicate to all audience types and across cultures in both written and verbal form.
- Proven ability to translate management systems into normal business practice.
- Self-driven, motivated individual who has the drive, confidence, and skills to work effectively on their own.

**Desirable Experience & Qualifications**
- Qualified business continuity practitioner.
- Prince2 project management qualification.

**Working Arrangements**
- Based at home with periodic working from The Lighthouse office.
- Regular travel to other offices nationally, and occasional international travel.
- Full time position (37.5 hours per week)
