The Merchant Hotel - Host

The Great Room Restaurant is the jewel in the crown of the hotel. A sumptuous space evoking effortless and timeless grandeur, situated in the former main Banking Hall of the building. A more fitting setting for the gastronomic delights prepared daily for discerning guests could not be imagined. The hotel Restaurant is open daily for Breakfast, Lunch, Traditional Afternoon Tea and sumptuous à la Carte Dining.

Rate of pay is £11.44 per hour plus excellent service charge for all staff

**A full time member of staff could expect to earn on average an additional £100 -£150 per week through service charge paid weekly through payroll.**

**Sample rota for a Host**:
Monday 7am-3am
Tuesday 3pm - 11pm
Wednesday Rest day
Thursday Rest day
Friday 7am - 3pm
Saturday 7am - 4pm
Sunday 3pm - 11pm

**The essential criteria for this position is**:

- 12 months experience working in a similar role
- Excellent IT Skills
- Excellent organisation Skills
- Confidence
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Fully flexible as the job entails working weekends and evenings.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working within a five star setting

**The role will involve**:

- Taking restaurant reservations in person and on the phone
- Seating customers
- Dealing with inquires regarding the all aspects of the hotel
- Directing customers
- Supervising when required
- Administration duties
- Waiting duties when required
