Purpose
As a Preservation Associate Analyst, you will partner with our internal and external legal teams, our technology specialists, and our external eDiscovery vendors to execute, manage and track the preservation of documents and electronically stored information.
You'll report into the functions eDiscovery Preservation director and will be part of a team of eDiscovery professionals who all play a key role in managing the various phases of the 'Electronic Discovery Reference Model'.
- execution of preservation tasks;
- consulting with our investigators and lawyers to scope data preservation requirements;
- drafting, maintaining, and enhancing procedures for data preservation and;
- supporting the coordination of records management activities in the Legal function.
Processes
- Responsible for executing and supervising the preservation of data from computers, mobile devices, cloud repositories and collaboration tools using industry best practices.
- Responsible for the communication and issuance of Legal Data Preservation Notices, to individuals and group system owners.
- Responsible for maintaining records to document and track preservation management processes and decision-making, including demonstrating compliance with preservation and disclosure requirements in legal proceedings (such as chain of custody).
- Support the Preservation Director to create and maintain a central data repository recording all preservation, collection, and chain of custody activities for both manual and automated preservation workflows.
- Support the Preservation Directory to integrate, deploy, and document automated procedures for document and ESI preservation.
- Support the Preservation Director to integrate dashboard technology with systems holding preservation records, to report Management Information to key stakeholders.
- Support the Preservation Director to develop and test the implementation of protocols and standard operating procedures in relation to Preservation
- Support the Preservation Director in enhancing Legal Hold technology solutions, ensuring that it's fit for purpose and meets Legal requirements.
Other Responsibilities
- Previous experience working in either an eDiscovery/Digital Forensic or Legal Technology role with a deep understanding of the Electronic Data Reference Model (EDRM).
- Exposure to digital forensic collection tools (EnCase, FTK Imager, F-Response, Cellebrite, etc) and cloud-based compliance/preservation tools (e.g. M365 Compliance Centre, Bloomberg Vault, Veritas Enterprise Vault).
- Experience in using at least one scripting/programming language to automate tasks (Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, REST APIs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask within tight deadlines, and excellent analytical skills
