Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The postholder will take an active role in routine screening and follow-up of participants in clinical trials, with appropriate supervision. The research activity will be based in the Nottingham mood disorders research clinic, which is split across three sites: the Nottingham Psychotherapy Unit, the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) and the NIHR Clinical Research Facility at Queens Medical Centre. The trials experience may encompass interventional work with novel or repurposed pharmaceutical agents; neuromodulation; and/or digital platform development (including automated mood monitoring); all aimed at enhancing the assessment and treatment of mood disorders. There is an active Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group attached to the Nottingham MHM that the postholder will have the opportunity to work with, to get first-hand understanding of the importance of this activity in helping to guide clinical trials. There will also be the opportunity to assist in the development of a new digital platform, creating a core dataset for 'difficult to treat depression', to understand this better across the UK. The post offers an unique chance to become part of an exciting new central government initiative that will link to other sites across the UK, to develop contacts in research and understand at first-hand how this works in practice. There will be no clinical work (beyond the research trials contact) and no expectation the postholder will take part in any on-call work.
