At Rainbows Children’s Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 babies, children, and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as vital support for approximately 3,000 families, siblings, and carers across the East Midlands. Our Facilities team plays a crucial role in ensuring our Hospice is a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for those we care for.

We are seeking a **Facilities Officer** to assist the Head of Estates & Facilities in managing the day-to-day operational duties, including administration, health and safety, and compliance. This varied role includes supporting internal teams, managing contractors, ensuring legal compliance, and coordinating with our retail stores. You’ll also administer software systems, oversee health and safety tasks, and support catering and housekeeping teams.

**Hours**: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
**Location**: Based at our Hospice in Loughborough, with occasional travel to our retail stores across the East Midlands.

**About the role**

Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Act as the first point of contact for building-related issues, liaising with employees and external contractors.
- Support health and safety compliance through risk assessments, policy updates, and maintaining auditable documentation.
- Manage and administer health and safety software, including DATIX and SoloProtect, as well as facilities management tools.
- Coordinate the housekeeping and catering teams to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Provide administrative support for facilities and health & safety operations, including report writing, database management, and minute-taking.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, offering advice and guidance as needed.Responsible for Health and Safety administration and coordination, ensuring legal compliance, producing risk assessments and ensuring safe systems of work at all times as well as providing advice and guidance as appropriate.

**Requirements**:
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about facilities management, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the skills to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining high standards.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of facilities management operations, including compliance and contractor control.
- Experience working in property or facilities management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications (preferred but not essential).
- Previous experience in roles offering high levels of customer service.
