Accounts Assistant

We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in our award-winning business at Auchincruive near Ayr.

Our Accounts team works hard in supporting the European, Middle Eastern, African & Indian (EMEAI) territories for NEOGEN, a top performing NASDAQ listed business employing around 1800 people worldwide. The team is office based at our European head offices in Auchincruive.

What you’ll be doing:

- Processing purchase invoices in the accounting system (Sage 200).
- Ensuring 3-way matching electronically of purchase orders, goods receipt notes and purchase invoices.
- Accuracy of PO/Invoice coding/matching/authorisation.
- Validate outstanding POs/invoice queries.
- Supplier Statement reconciliations.
- Pro-actively resolving invoice variances/queries with suppliers and operations.
- Coding non-PO invoices and ensuring all invoices are duly authorised.
- Perform regular housekeeping checks and ensure ledgers are tidy.
- Dealing with auditor requests.
- Working to meet deadlines in accordance with month-end closedown timetable.
- Answer telephone, redirect calls and take messages.
- Assist visitors to the business, ensuring they follow correct procedures for signing in.
- Any other relevant duties.

About you:

- You have previous experience in an Accounts role with general experience.
- You are able to work in a fast paced office with a high volume of tasks to be completed.
- You are able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise your workload.
- You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- You are proficient in Microsoft packages.
- Knowledge of SAGE & SAP systems would be an advantage, although training will be provided.
