**Job Summary**
The Training and Competence Coordinator's main responsibility at Geoquip Marine is to ensure the learning and compliance agendas. They oversee the planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of training activities for the organization's employees. Collaborating with all levels of the organization, the Training & Competence Coordinator fosters positive working relationships and promotes proactive skills development across departments. Additionally, this role acts as the primary point of contact for customer service, managing communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding new training requests, venues, course coordination, joining instructions, attendee lists, and other related matters. The Training and Competence Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting departmental objectives, ongoing training projects, and maintaining audit quality.
**Functions and duties**
The Training and Competence Coordinator at Geoquip Marine has a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Facilitating, monitoring, and ensuring the day-to-day implementation of Geoquip Marine Integrated Management System policies and processes related to training and competence management.
- Assisting in implementing a competency-based system for the company in consultation with the Head of HR, Department Heads, and line managers.
- Developing and supporting the Company's training matrix/programme to meet the requirements of Geoquip Marine and its clients, aligning with the competence management system.
- Processing training administration requests.
- Keeping training monitoring and tracking up to date.
- Preparing in-house certificates and updating relevant HR and SharePoint Training Folders for staff.
- Ensuring relevant, up-to-date certification of onboarded staff and crew is recorded accurately in the Onboard Tracker System.
- Utilizing reporting analysis through the Onboard Tracker System to review and identify training and competence gaps in both onshore and offshore operations. Collaborating with Department Heads, offshore leadership teams, and colleagues to find positive solutions.
- Assisting in organizing and developing training manuals, instructional curriculum, reference libraries, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
- Compiling and analyzing data on past and current training requirements.
- Liaising with the HSE Representative Onboard to implement in-house training requirements for the crew.
- Collaborating with Department Heads and line managers to ensure timely competency assessments of personnel and proper documentation.
- Assisting Project Managers or Department Heads in identifying and addressing future project training requirements.
- Liaising with third-party training centers to meet company and client training needs.
- Advising crew members at least three months prior to the expiration of their BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) and Medical Certificates.
- Directly liaising with authorized assessors to facilitate the implementation and progression of competencies.
- Performing any other necessary duties within the scope of the incumbent's competence and functions.
**Qualifications**
- Relevant training and development experience, including delivering in-house training.
- Formal HR qualification and/or a relevant certification.
