Plymouth, United Kingdom Hamoaze House Full time

Hamoaze House

**Patron**
**Rt Hon Baroness Watkins of Tavistock**

**Position Available for a Deputy Chief Executive**

Hamoaze House was incorporated 30th June 1998, receiving charity status 7th July 1998. Our principal activity, in partnership with the Alliance, is the provision of day support facilities for those affected by multiple vulnerabilities and complex needs, including families & friends, with a focus on problematic use of alcohol and other drugs. We also, in partnership, contribute towards the delivery of the young person’s drug & alcohol project (SHARP) and a Hidden Harm Project supporting children whose lives are affected by parental use of drugs/alcohol.  At Seymour House we provide an alternative program of activities for young people at risk of school exclusion. Alongside this we run after school clubs, sports clubs and life skills including a Youth Club.

We offer a warm, nurturing, safe environment that encourages people to build safety & trust for themselves with both peers & staff, offering time to think, to focus on their assets & strengths as well as developing and building relationships with supportive family and friends. We value engagement & develop authentic, congruent, kind relationships and collaboratively co-produce bespoke care plans.
Winter Provision - from Oct to Mar of each year we provide single unit accommodation for rough sleepers, and this is housed in a self-contained annex within Hamoaze House.

When people with histories of problematic alcohol and drug use are given opportunities to change and positions of trust this can have a significant and positive impact on their lives. Promoting self
- worth and self-esteem. We watch individuals grow and develop and step away from destructive patterns of behaviour and grinding and consuming feelings of guilt and shame. Instead, they develop a sense of pride and self-respect all of which promotes sustainable change

The Hamoaze House building is used by a wide variety of professional agencies for meetings and events. This includes AA and DAA meetings, DAA Convention, BUD Club (a club for families with children on the autistic spectrum). It is also a vibrant 'hub' for social and sports activities which are offered to people living in the local community as well as all those who use the facilities.

We run a charity shop and a Coffee Box with volunteers from users of our services to help build confidence and pro social skills.

As a partner of the Plymouth Alliance, we are committed to supporting people who experience multiple disadvantage and complex needs; our vision is to improve the lives of people, supporting the whole person to meet their aspirations, and to participate in and contribute to all aspects of life.

As part of our strategic planning and development of services we are seeking to appoint a Deputy
CEO to support the current CEO, Trustees and Staff to ensure that Hamoaze further develops support to individuals and a wider offer to the City of Plymouth.
