We are looking for a forensic psychologist who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of people experiencing psychosis, but who also present with risk and behaviours that bring them in to the forensic arena. Your specialist knowledge, experience and skills are very much needed.
Our Community Recovery teams are multi-disciplinary and support adults in the community who experience ongoing difficulties as a result of psychosis. The team approach is based on the FACT model and is aligned with a Recovery philosophy of service provision. Compassionate care is at the heart of what we do, and the contribution of psychology and provision of psychological interventions is highly valued. We have a strong commitment to provide an excellent standard of care and to continually improve, and we are keen see our psychologists flourish and develop.

As a Principal Forensic Psychologist, you will join clinical psychology colleagues in delivering strong leadership in psychology provision in the teams, as well as contributing to the Trust-wide development of our Forensic Community Mental Health Service. You will work principally with people with complex difficulties who present risk and their families, delivering recovery and offence / risk focused interventions in the community. You will be expected to promote values that seek to support recovery in this client group and maximise the potential of individuals with the aim of reducing social exclusion, stigma and the potentially disabling effects of psychosis. As part of the Psychology team you will also be expected to support clinical psychology trainees, clinical associates in psychology and other practitioners in their training and development. Research is also highly valued and we have been identified as a trial site in a large multi-centre research trial for a psychological intervention in psychosis.

A recognised qualification, current training or commitment to undertake training in additional elements of your role or NICE guideline psychological interventions is desirable. The ability to travel during the working day over a large geographical area is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly with the needs of the client group.
