Primary Role:
**To act as a first point of contact between local employers and stakeholders to **facilitate engagement with schools, colleges and other relevant organisations that **work with young people, to increase career awareness and employability **opportunities for young people.**
**To design and deliver responsive, high quality services to employers and other **external clients, which ensures opportunities for young people to engage with **employers throughout their education are fully exploited.**
**Through successful employer engagement, improve the life chances of young people **through better preparation of young people for the world of work.**
**To work with partners to facilitate sustainable and operational industry partnerships **with education across Angus, Dundee & Perthshire.**
**Leading by example, the Tay Cities DYW team will be passionate and inspired about the **opportunities for young people, will have a growth mindset and will work with the Board and the **CEO of Dundee & Angus Chamber to fully support delivery region-wide.**
**This role is high profile within the business community and you will be expected to represent the **DYW brand in a positive, engaging, energetic and above all professional manner.**
**Primary Responsibilities and targets**:
**The key role for the Employer Liaison Officers is to proactively engage with businesses and the **education sector to help to develop and deepen relationships to ensure that young people are **better prepared for the world of work.**
**To contribute to the identification and proactive targeting of employer and partner organisations **who can commit to and participate in Tay Cities DYW activities, ensuring all associated activities **are delivered to a high standard.**
**To support employers to build a workforce with the right skills and experience, and put young **people at the heart of what they do.**
**Summary of duties -**
- Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners to create a culture of collaboration, ensuring employers and partners are advised of the opportunities to engage with educational partners to support youth employment and career education.
- Perform a relationship management function with designated employers and partners ensuring customer expectations are exceeded and long term, sustainable partnerships between employers and education are established and maintained.
- Maintain accurate customer engagement records utilising automated CRM systems and other information capture processes as required.
- Contribute to the identification and proactive targeting of employer and partner organisations who can contribute to and participate in Tay Cities DYW activities, ensuring all associated activities are delivered to a high standard.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of promotional material and targeted campaigns to promote DYW to stakeholders
- Act as an enabler of employer engagement with young people to increase awareness of employment and career opportunities, broker relationships, remove barriers to labour market participation and create capacity to recruit and develop young people
- To deliver employer and industry related projects and events to ensure achievement of project milestones and deliverables for the employer, the education provider and the young person
- Act as a Tay Cities DYW Champion by making the business community and educational partners aware of DYW and the economic significance and positive educational impact of DYW activity

- **Essential Experience & Skills**:
- Proven track record in a sales/business development/workforce development role with related targets
- Substantial experience/track record in building and maintaining customer relationships and business partnerships
- Current experience of working with private sector organisations
- Evidence of achievement of business development targets and an ability to secure engagement
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and customer care skills
- Entrepreneurial approach with an ability to spot a business development opportunity
- Strong networking skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills suited to a wide range of audiences
- Solutions oriented approach
- Commitment to achieve defined goals
- Good team player
- Competent in the use of IT systems in particular, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint
