**Objective of Role (overview)**:
The kitchen assistant’s expertise guarantees quality and consistency of preparation and cleaning

**REPORTS TO**:
Head Chef & Sous Chef

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

**DUTIES**:

- Ensure all food storage, product rotation maximizes potential profit of the product
- Ensure all product preparation is completed to standard to ensure recipe potential is achieved. (salads, peeled vegetables)
- Ensure all working utensils and equipment are maintained to maximize life span to operate to full capacity
- Ensure all chemicals are stored correctly and correct amounts are used in the day to day kitchen schedule
- Receiving of daily produce deliveries and checking of quality (including weights and temperature)
- Maintaining cleanliness, safety and organization of the kitchen
- Always presenting self in perfect uniform and correct shift start time
- Completing quality preparation of all duties to clean, set up, handover and close kitchen to standard

**HUMAN RESOURCES, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT**:

- Health and Safety adherence including risk assessment and equipment maintenance (internal)

**REPORTING AND RESPONSIBILITY**:

- Adhere to all company rules, regulations and procedures
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to
- Communicates any potential problems to the duty manager
- Perform any reasonable task as directed by managers and operations managers
- Operates best practice to reduce wastage
- Takes responsibility for stock rotation

**BASICS**:

- **Turn up on time - **EMBANKMENT KITCHEN staff are always ready for their shift 5 minutes early, dressed and full of enthusiasm

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Salford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
