Head of Networking

**Description**:
**Summary**

The Head of Networking manages a team of Network Architects who support our core datacentre networks, build and deliver network projects (WAN and LAN) for our customers, and define the products and services that we use to support our customers.

This role will from time to time also involve consulting with our customers to define their needs, implementing existing tools and services, and driving the build of new products and services to improve our customers’ Cyber Security.

We are looking for an experienced Network architect/engineer that is ready to take the jump into management and ownership of our network portfolio.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Team Management
- Service and Product definition, Pre-sales consultancy / Bill of Materials creation
- Continual improvement of the network services we provide to customers
- Incident management

**Responsibilities**

Leading and delivering Network services at Wanstor and to our customers:

- Day-to-day management of a Network Architect Team consisting of 5 individuals
- Project scheduling
- Design review
- Inspire, influence and coach others to execute best practice design and security principles within Wanstor and our customers
- Oversee the core MPLS and Broadband platforms that Wanstor provide for our customers, planning upgrades, consolidation, and long-term evolution of our core platforms
- Own the roadmap of maintenance, upgrades and service enhancements for Wanstor’s network platform and customer services
- Work closely with the NOC Service team leader and engineers to define and improve standard provisioning and support activities
- Define proactive checks and improvements to ensure that our customers' network environments are up to date and suitable for their needs
- Advise the sales team in the design and bill of materials for complex projects
- Create and/or contribute to product and service collateral for sales and marketing purposes

**Desired Experience**
- Connectivity concepts
- ADSL, FFTP, FTTC, Etherway, PSTN, SoGEA
- WAN (MPLS) technology and protocols (e.g BGP)
- Cisco core
- SD-WAN technology and concepts
- Fortinet SD-WAN experience is highly desirable
- Firewalls (Fortigate & Fortimanager experience highly desirable)
- LAN technologies - Switches, WiFi, branch routers/firewalls
- Fortinet, Cisco, Draytek, Aruba, Meraki
- Provisioning and management automation
- A demonstrable understanding of the core concepts of Cyber Security as it pertains to network technologies
