**Job summary**:
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. HQ Land Warfare Centre (HQ LWC), commanded by Director Land Warfare (DLW), is a large and busy Headquarters which plays a pivotal role in Army and Defence training.

This is a critical time for the British Army as it begins to transition through a decade of delivery of new training platforms and looks to develop a brand-new training system called the Land Training System (LTS) which will ensure that the whole Army has protected annual key training periods.

The Assistant Head Digitisation post is an exciting and vital role - you will operate at the forefront of enabling people capabilities and leading change to support the new Land Training System.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:

If this is you, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head Digitisation to join the Land Warfare Centre (LWC). This is a new role that will lead on the development of and implementation of the LWC’s Digital and Data Strategy. This is an opportunity to shape the future digitisation landscape.

Key Focus Areas:

- Direct the strategic planning and the implementation of digitisation programmes and projects, ensuring efficient, optimisation and accurate digital conversion that exploits new technology and manipulates richer data streams.
- Provide the technical expertise and oversight to consider and report on coherence and integration of Army Information Exploitation capabilities and the architecture required for optimum connectivity across both pipeline and training events.
- Lead and manage a digital team that will cohere, deliver and integrate the digital capabilities and re-sources required to enable assurance and management of risk for the Land Training System (LTS), along with the crucial ‘data culture’ change and the business transformation activities required to ensure the capabilities deliver the required outcomes.
- Be able to understand the needs of the users and handle changing priorities, sometimes with challenging timescales. Additionally, assist with setting the requirements for, and helping to develop products and services, capturing evolving needs and proposing design approaches to meet these needs.
- Prepare regular reports on programmes and projects’ progress, performance metrics and budget status.
