Applications are invited for a committed individual to take the role as an Injury Coder at The Trauma Audit & Research Network (TARN). TARN is the mandated audit for trauma care and collects data from Hospitals across England and Wales and Ireland for the purpose of analysis and dissemination which in turn, aims to drive an improvement in the standards of care for the severely injured patient.
As part of a medium sized team, the post will incorporate hybrid working (in line with University of Manchester principles) and will therefore involve working both in the TARN office, based at Salford Royal Hospital which is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and working from home.
You will initially be trained to participate in the routine injury coding and validation of data submitted by member hospitals where detailed coding is essential. You will be required to participate in internal quality assurance meetings to support the TARN Team, develop an understanding of trauma data and effectively take responsibility for managing your own workload.
Once fully trained, you will also be involved in supporting member Hospitals via the TARN support helpdesk.
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
