Healthcare assistants are an integral part of the team that provide support to medical staff and patients in departments and wards throughout hospitals. Without the input of our Healthcare Assistants, wards wouldn't be able to function properly.
As a Trainee Healthcare Assistant you will be reporting to a Senior Nurse and will be a key point of contact between patients and the wider medical team, undertaking essential daily tasks to ensure that patients are adequately looked after and dealt with.
As a Healthcare Assistant your role will involve but will not be limited to:
- **Keeping departments clean and tidy.**:
- **Taking and recording basic observations such as blood pressure and temperature.**:
- **Entering data into computer systems.**:
- **Assisting nurses with various procedures.**:
- **Ensuring medical equipment is clean and well maintained.
**We are keen to stress that you do not need previous experience for this role however it is important that applicants have all of the following qualities:
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Willingness to learn and development an understanding of patient needs and the role of a healthcare assistant.
