Valuations, in conjunction with Risk, is in charge of independently verifying, analysing and reporting on the market parameters used in the valuations, as well as analysing the impact of the use of independent market parameters in the valuation. **Purpose**: - Purpose: To support the accurate and independent marking of all parameters as required by regulators along with the derivation, analyse and reporting of results. - Scope: The scope of this position is driven by the parameters & GBL’s covered which may change due to new business requirements. **CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES OF ROLE**: - Take full ownership and independently perform under allocated limited time frame a list of allocated daily and monthly MAP reviews (aka IPV -> independent price verification) across different GBL’s on a variety of products. - Investigate the drivers of the impact and escalate any issues to the appropriate teams. - Be active participant in discussions with Risk, FO, Finance, Auditors and management for issues/improvements related to the allocated MAP. - Gradually learn and assist other processes to ensure coverage. In case of issues escalate to more experience members of the team (other Associates/AVP/VP) who will assist or lead the resolution. - Provide regular updates and deliver medium size projects - Contribute on a bigger scale project as part of a team effort if needed. - Gradually build and maintain relationships with other Product Control teams, Front Office, Middle Office, Finance and Risk-GM based on trust, respect and professionalism. - Maintain accurate and clear SOPs (Standard operating procedure) at all time. - Show initiative to challenge, identify and recommend improvements on processes that will benefit control and efficiency. Once approved ensure accurate implementation. - Share skills and ideas across the group. - Produce accurate and timely KPI’s for circulation to management or presentation at meetings. Highlight coverage and results of IPV - Ensure accurate submission to external consensus provider **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**: **Essential** - Solid understanding of basic financial products and their valuation techniques. (bonds, swaps, calls, puts) and desire to learn more - Self-motivation for career progress - Strong Excel skills. The ability to understand and debug spreadsheets efficiently. - Good VBA coding skills or basic knowledge of VBA with the willingness of self-development. - The ability to see the large picture and the impact of changes in VC and the business. - Ability/Confidence to interact at all levels - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to communicate clearly and accurately. - To be able to work individually and as part of a team. - Attention to detail is essential especially when under pressure and time constraints. - The ability to find quick workaround solutions - Previous experience in Valuations or PnL teams (2-3 years) **EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES**: **As an employee with BNP Paribas London Branch, we want to make sure that you are rewarded for your commitment.
