**Job Opportunity: Warehouse Operative (Public Sector)**

A leading public sector client is seeking a **Warehouse Operative** to join their team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to support critical services that ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the procurement, safekeeping, and distribution of vehicles, PPE, operational equipment, and uniforms.
- Oversee stock management by monitoring levels, placing replenishment orders, and maintaining the electronic stock management system.
- Organize the collection, delivery, and disposal of goods, ensuring compliance with disposal policies.
- Handle the fitting and distribution of firefighting PPE and other equipment, ensuring it meets national safety standards.
- Participate in regional duty standby rotas, providing operational support as needed.
- Operate forklifts (counterbalance and reach) and other mechanical handling equipment to move stock efficiently.
- Conduct regular stocktaking and audits to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Assist with contract management by liaising with suppliers and monitoring performance.

Essential Criteria:

- **3-5 years of experience** in a multi-commodity stores or warehouse environment, including use of an electronic stock management system.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- **Forklift license** (counterbalance and reach) or willingness to obtain.

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £15.40-£15.48 per hour

Expected hours: 36.25 per week
