Relief Support Worker

Inspire has been supporting adults with learning disabilities in Aberdeenshire for over 30 years and today operates a range of services in the area, enabling local people with additional support needs to get the most out of life.
We currently have vacancies for Relief Support Workers within our two-person, autism-specific service, situated in the village of Balmedie around eight miles from Aberdeen.
Our Balmedie service is currently home to two men, aged between 35-45, who have a broad range of interests including walking, swimming, ice-skating, eating out, reflexology, visits to sensory rooms, music therapy, recycling and many more.
As a Relief Support Worker you will participate in household tasks, including cleaning, cooking and washing while encouraging those who live in the service to join in. You will also accompany them on outings within the local community, help with the administration of medication and provision of quality personal care and support both men to achieve their desired outcomes. Due to the location of the service, holding a full driver’s licence is desirable.
Although our work can be challenging it is also immensely rewarding as Relief Support Workers play a vital role in developing and maintaining the important life skills and encouraging the participation and integration required for the people we support to flourish and get the best out of life.
