**Continuous Improvement Lead / Food Manufacturing / 6 month contract / Immediate start.**
**_Recra are working in partnership_** with a leading food manufacturer who are keen to add an Interim CI Lead to join the team for a 6 month rolling contract.
**_PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:_**
- The Continuous Improvement Lead drives sustainable continuous improvements, delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), while building cultural change throughout the organisation.
- The CI Lead works closely with Operations and department employees to achieve results.
- This position requires strong project management skills and hands-on leadership skills, along with a passion for people development.
**_ Main Responsibilities:_**
- Leads and facilitates project workstreams day to day activities
- Help the team to deliver the outputs regarding the project plan
- Facilitates FMEA and troubleshooting,PPM and autonomous activities from beginning through completion across various work groups
- Help to create procedures for standard operations
- Monitors weekly project activities and reports
- Ensures that corrective actions have been developed, implemented and are effective.
- Works with management teams to sustain results
- Maintains and update the site’s SQDC (safety, quality, delivery, cost) metrics
- Develops standard operations sheets and all applicable forms/flow charts
- Develops tracking tools and measures to support CI initiatives
- Develops business case justification for projects and initiatives
- Benchmarks performance across the facilities and industry to identify areas of opportunity.
- Challenges the status quo to find ways to optimize manufacturing performance to deliver superior results
- Builds a CI culture across the organization.
**Safety**:
- Maintain and improve people's safety within the working environment by investigating to conclusion all accidents and near misses
- To raise near misses to improve people safety
- Work with colleagues to identify and eliminate Health & Safety risks to all staff
- Lead by example - Ensure personal behaviours demonstrate zero tolerance to all Health & Safety Issues within area of responsibility
**Training**: carry out training of others as required in any aspect of role or as requested

**_ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS (educational plus other requirements):_**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred,
- Two (2) or more years in a manufacturing environment.
- One (1) to three (3) years of CI experience, preferred.
- Previous experience in building up PPM and autonomous maintenance activities.
- Interested and capable in people skill development.
- Very strong communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated effective team player The CI Specialist possesses extensive facilitation skills and hands-on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activities.
**Other**
The CI Specialist needs to also possess leadership skills to drive the overall CI process across the facility, without having direct reporting relationships at the plant. He/she will work closely with the CI Manager but must also be able to leverage his/her power of influence with the Plant Manager and the site leadership team.
