**What you’ll be doing**

The Head of Data Governance and Quality is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Thames Water’s data governance and quality strategies, policies, and procedures. The role is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and compliant with industry regulations, and standards and our focus in extracting value from data to help Thames Water and to provide great customer services.

Reporting to the Director of Data & Insights (CDO), the Head of Data Governance and Quality will work cross-functionally with various teams across the Thames Water to ensure effective data governance, quality practices are in place including the democratisation of the data.

This role presents you with an amazing opportunity to deliver programs from the initial concept all the way through its company deployment and use.

In order to excel in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Significant experience in data governance and quality with a strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices, data quality methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and communication skills, and can facilitate discussions across teams and with senior business stakeholders across Thames Water.
- Passionate about unlocking the benefits of accurate, available data to drive measurable business impact with insights and data products with a proven track record of successfully introducing and leading a Data Governance function to drive cultural change.

We deliver life's essential service so our customers, communities and the environment can thrive. This means, that when a crisis happens, we all rally around to support our customers. As part of your role, you’ll be required to participate in a rota to provide Customer Incident Support, as requested by the Company from time to time. This may be by supporting our customers on the frontline as an Ambassador or being part of the team managing the incident as a Control Tower Lead.
