**Hairdresser Contract**
- £10.50 per hour
- Contracted to 19.5 hours per week (working 3 days over 7)
The Hairdresser is responsible for carrying out assigned duties, which will involve cutting, blow-drying, washing resident’s hair while maintaining the cleanliness of the hair salon.
The Hairdresser is an integral part of the care home staff team and is paramount to ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained in the care home.
**Responsibilities**
Maintain the highest standards of efficiency and cleanliness within the salon area of the care home.
Have a sound working knowledge of the safe use of equipment. Help maintain the equipment in good, clean, working order, by regular maintenance.
Have a sound knowledge of Care Homes Scotland Ltd policies and procedures, ensuring that working practice reflects the guidance provided.
Ensure that confidentiality is always maintained.
Attend mandatory training sessions, and any other training arranged by the home manager, for the benefit of your working practice, health, and safety.
Have knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation, ensuring that safety precautions are undertaken appropriately (eg: use of PPE, ‘wet floor’ signs, etc).
Ensure the safety of our residents by promoting safe working practice.
Attend COSHH training and relevant updates, ensuring that risk assessments are adhered to, and reviewed regularly.
Have a sound knowledge of fire safety awareness, and the procedure to follow in the event of fire.
Have due regard and respect for resident’s personal belongings.
Ensure a good knowledge of all chemicals used in the home and use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
