1st Line Technical Support

We are looking for a **1st Line Technical Support** to join our Technical Department, based in **Billingham**. This is a full-time permanent role and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary plus benefits.**
**Paralloy** has a worldwide presence and is a major supplier to the petrochemical market. The success of the company has been built on developing quality products in rapid lead times supported by a focused approach to customer service.
As our **1st Line Technical Support**,** **you will provide assistance and advice to end users in various locations. Liaising with IT Manager and Business System support & Admin on specific projects, delivering solutions to end users. Working as a key part of a small team, there is further scope for development and involvement in all aspects of core infrastructure systems and other development projects. The role is based in Billingham but also covers systems at our Middlesbrough and Sheffield sites both remotely and in person.
**Responsibilities of our **1st Line Technical Support** **will include**:
- Providing IT Support, where possible, to shop-floor control/monitoring devices such as SFDC PCs, PC control units for CNC/CMM devices.
- Installing and configuring desktop hardware and software to agreed security standards.
- The De-commissioning of redundant equipment.
- Working along-side Business System support to assist & maintain smooth functioning of user systems & software.
- Preparing and managing department / system related documentation.
**Our ideal **1st Line Technical Support** **will have the following skills/experience**:
- The ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Qualified to BTEC / A-Level or higher in a suitable IT related discipline.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products to a good standard.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous work experience in a user support environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of the principles of Business / ERP systems is desirable but not essential.
- Self-motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic individual with a desire to progress.
- Flexible and adaptive to a variety of situations to meet IT service delivery and support demands.
- Able to support multiple disciplines of people from shop-floor to senior management.
- Able to adapt to a changing environment.
- Relevant industry/product based IT training/certifications is favourable but not essential.
- Capable of working both in a team and as a lone worker, with a degree of professional self-accountability.
