Lisini Pub Company is seeking to recruit a dynamic, commercially focused Head of Finance. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will take ownership of managing a small Accounts & Finance team and monthly/annual reporting and give commercial insights to the business to help drive continued growth.
The role of the Head of Finance is focused, strategic and hands on with the ability to be a catalyst to drive the “right conversations” by offering financial insights that drive continual growth and business optimisation.
- Ensure robust financial stewardship in place across the entire company
- Oversee the annual year accounts in conjunction with statutory and financial obligations to meet stakeholder and lending requirements.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts to all relevant stakeholders, on time and to a high standard
- Responsible for the financial planning, annual budgeting, and weekly forecasting across estate
- Provides analysis, KPI’s and insight along with qualitative comments based on financial performance.
- Providing leadership and influencing stakeholders to deliver results and act as a steward in all business matters by being vocal about key opportunities, issues, and concerns.
- Overall accountability in ensuring long-term and short-term business cash requirements is met.
- Act as key liaison point for external auditors, advisors, and tax authorities
- Play an active and visible part of the Senior Management Team with proactive input, robust advice, and commercial support to the business.
- Perform major finance and accounting day to day duties, being hands on as required.
- Optimise systems to improve efficiency and information
- Managing an Accounts & Finance team and shaping roles where required
- Responsibility for CAPEX planning and expenditure and financial forecasting 3-5 years
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified/Part Qualified accountant or someone working towards qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Significant exposure to statutory and management account preparation
- Good management experience in leading and managing people
- Being a visible team member, offering proactive input to drive the business forward
- At least five years of finance post-qualification experience - hospitality sector experience desired not essential
- Comprehensive and up-to-date technical awareness of accounting standards and budget setting and monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Personally Effective - excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and delegate
- Ability to seek out, manage and influence opportunities for continuous improvement and business optimisation
- Be a catalyst for change by promoting financial conversations to drive better decision-making and seek out new opportunities
- Ability to analyse complex operational/statistical information and produce accurate/intelligent forecasts and plans
- An interest in the sustainability agenda and its legal obligations
- Previous experience of enhancing the finance role, bringing Payroll in house
- Willing to work flexibly to meet deadlines
- Proficient knowledge and use of financial software e.g., Sage 50
- Analysis of data output from a range of company IT systems
- Advanced MS Excel skills
