Arthur is working with a leading insurer in the London market to recruit a Senior Property Underwriter. In this role, you will be the lead underwriter for a book of global property programmes in the company market. You will be joining a profitable anddiverse team who carry a very strong reputation in the market.
Due to internal promotions, this role is available reporting directly into the Head of Property. As the No.2 Underwriter, you will manage the largest and most complex accounts within the portfolio providing expert advice and knowledge to brokers / clients. Youwill be expected to develop the book and contribute to growth therefore underwriters with strong distribution networks would be a welcome addition to this team. In 2021, this team grew by 35% mostly from new business and advantageous market conditions whilstmaintaining profitability.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technical multinational property underwriter to build their personal brand as the lead underwriter at a renowned London market carrier.
- To underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
- Servicing key producers and clients, through an engaged visits, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities.
- To assist in formulating and implementing underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability. To ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility.
- To meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, time frame for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues.
- To provide mentoring, training and coaching to junior colleagues where appropriate.In so doing, ensuring a high quality underwriting team.
