Senior Agency Operator

We are currently looking for a Senior Agency Operator (Port Agent) to join our busy team in our Regional Operations Centre (ROC).

The ROC provides a centralised support function to the wider Inchcape UK port agency operation with two specific business functions:
Crew Logistics Services - coordinating crew changes and husbandry arrangements for contracted ship owners and ship managers across UK ports from Scotland in the north to Falmouth in the south-west and everywhere in between.

Port Agency Support - remote coordination of full port agency jobs across the Southampton, Mersey and Bristol Channel regions. You will remotely coordinate full commercial cargo calls dealing with varied operations from tankers and car carriers to cruiseand container ships, plus handle customs work and documentation.

You will be a key member of a team responsible for providing a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week rostered on-call service to our customers.

This is a unique position where you will coordinate operations and build key relationships and knowledge of a number of UK ports rather than being limited to just one

**Location**:Grangemouth, Scotland.

**Hours**:Standard working week but with evening, weekend and public holiday on call coverage on a rotational basis

**Senior Agency Operator Duties**:

- Ensure outstanding port agency services are rendered to all customers, ensuring operational and financial KPIs are met or exceeded.
- Prepare proforma port and husbandry costs and request pre-funding from customer as required
- Manage the booking of port services and the pre-arrival documentation process between vessel, port/terminal and government authorities
- Keep customer and all stakeholders updated with berthing and sailing prospects and provide real time progress reports when vessels are in port and working cargo
- Prepare cargo and customs documentation as required
- Coordinate husbandry services for vessels, including but not limited to crew changes, technicians and ship visitors, spares, provisions, Cash to Master, bunkers, fresh water and the off-load of garbage.

**Senior Agency Operator Requirements**:

- Excellent knowledge of Port Operations, Shipping and Port Agency
- Experience of working in a customer facing role in the shipping / maritime industry
- ICS Shipping qualification desirable or willing to work towards qualification
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet strict timelines
- Strong communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to work calmly and with a positive attitude under pressure
- Eligibility to work in the UK and full UK Driving Licence
- Willing to participate in the out-of-office hours (evening, weekends and public holidays) roster on a rotational basis
- Willing to travel to ports across the region for familiarisation.
