**RWI Phonics Teaching Assistant**

**Job description**

Milk Education is working in partnership with a “Outstanding” rated primary school in Gateshead who are looking to recruit a RWI phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant

You will be working across KS1 and KS2 helping children 1-1 You will be working closely with the class teacher to support the development of the children on a whole class, 1:1 key group basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- To work under the direction of the teacher in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive environment, in accordance with the lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
- Work closely with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals, and targets/appropriate to EYFS
- Assist with the planning of learning activities
- Monitor pupil’s responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress, problems etc
- Level 2 CACHE or equivalent childcare qualification ie, Childhood Degree
- Have a good working knowledge of the Early Years Curriculum and be familiar with the seven areas of development
