Senior Buyer

A leading multi-channel retail and wholesale FMCG business in the East Midlands is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to manage the Buying and Category Strategy for their Beer, Wines and Spirits range. They are a fast-growing and award-winning business withheavy investment from the owners and thus it will be a key appointment in their quest to continue their phenomenal success

**About the role**

Reporting to the Buying Director, this will be a high-profile role where you will be required to enhance the product range by sourcing new suppliers as well as nurturing the relationships with the current supply base. You will conduct range reviews, workcollaboratively with suppliers and internal contacts to produce promotional plans and joint business plans, with ultimate accountability for margin and profitability of your category.

**About the Person**

This would suit someone with an alcoholic beverage retail or wholesale Buying background, with a particular emphasis on the Beers, Wines and Spirits ranges. You will have a strong appreciation of Category Management principals and excellent sourcing, supplybase management and negotiation skills. You will have a proven track record of success in driving cost efficiencies and adding value through the identification of commercial opportunities. Ideally, you will have experience in dealing with a varied supply basefrom large branded suppliers to mainstream distributors to specialist brands. You will also have a collaborative working style, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
