**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The post holders will work as a trust grade SHO working on a split pattern of research and clinical duties (50:50)
- The Fellows will also have the opportunity to gain extensive experience of applied translational research in one of several areas, depending on their preference, including: pituitary and skull base surgery; neuro-oncology; vascular surgery; and spinal surgery.**Person specification**:

- Registered Medical Practitioner
- Completed general medical training
- On GMC register
**Experience**:

- Clinical Experience in Neurosurgery at SHO level
- An indication of effective research carried out under direction
**Skills/Understanding**:

- Excellent communication skills/verbal and written
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good computing skills (database, statistics
- Ability and commitment to teach in a clinical and non-clinical setting
- Ability to provide clinical supervision
- Good inter-personal skills with an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload, to delegate responsibility as appropriate and to supervise junior staff
- Committed to research and a commitment to quality in the research process
