**Job Title**: Junior Estimator - Utilities

**Location**:Blackburn

**Salary**: £30,000 - £35,000

**The Client**

Our client are a National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP) offering a comprehensive and professional service from a team of in-house specialists with a wealth of industry experience totalling over 115 years.

They are committed to offering a competitive package with full project management at voltages up to 11kV. They will work with the client to develop solutions, providing a tailored service from inception to final adoption.

Their expertise includes the design, construction, installation, connection, commissioning, repair and maintenance of all underground cables, overhead lines and electrical infrastructure from LV to 11kV.

They are looking to add a Junior Estimator

**The Role**
- Attend site visits as required to meet with client project managers. The appraisal of requirements in terms of works required, construction methods, materials required, programme management and delivery
- Identify potential risks, additional information required and possible alternative methods or products
- Compile a comprehensive net cost estimate for the work
- Timely submission of quotations and tenders, ensuring that the Client’s requirements and specifications are met in full
- Liaise as appropriate with senior management, identify subcontractors, choose suppliers from database/framework list, prepare quotations
- Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to works commencing
- Follow up submitted quotations and tenders

**The Person**
- Experience of various construction methods
- Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications Working knowledge of producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- The ability to quickly digest tender information, recognise submission requirements and compile logical sequences of actions
- Holder of a suitable relevant qualification e.g., HND, NVQ3 as well as a current industry competence card, e.g., EUSR or CSCS.
- In addition, you will have good commercial judgement, be a strong team player, a great communicator, with sound literacy and numerical skills, as well as being a competent user of various software.
