**Major Recruitment are working in partnership with a new client who are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join their expanding business. This role will be very much an opportunity to make your own mark and add value to a successful business.** **Role: - ** Transport Manager **Role Type: - ** Permanent **Location: - ** Sheffield **Salary: - ** £30,000 - £35,000 (Depending upon experience) **Hours Of Work: - ** Monday to Friday - 10 hour shifts (Depending upon the needs of the business) **Duties will include: - ** - Manage the development, performance and maintenance of the organisation’s transport to produce an efficient transport service, maximising performance, value and profitability against pre-agreed targets - Ensuring that the transport team understands its duties and its role within the organisation - Responsibility to adhere to budgets and plan to maximise profitability - Develop new initiatives and look for new ways to optimise the transport service offering - Meet both individual and team objectives - Training and developing the team and organisation as a whole - Manage, direct and monitor the transport service and the overall performance of the transport to increase efficiency and maximise service, performance, value and profit - Day to day tasks such as route planning, resource allocation and management, driver supervision - Implement and drive changes by reviewing current policies and processes whilst adapting to the ever changing customer demand. - Class 1 HGV Licence - CPC Qualification (a distinct advantage) - IOSH / NEBOSH Certification is an advantage - A minimum of 2 years experience within both general haulage and fleet - Knowledge of Pallet network is essential - A proven track record of planning and managing groupage / general haulage / fleet. - Good people management skills - Ability to mentor, engage and drive team performance **Please click "APPLY NOW" or contact Stacey in our Doncaster branch for further information.
