Passenger Assistant needed with West Sussex County Council

**Start Date**:

- ASAP

**Location** - Worthing or Broadbridge Heath depots

**Duration** - initially 3 months - temp to perm opportunities

**Hours per week** - 37 hours per week

**Salary** - £11.75 ltd an hour

**Description**:

- To support children with special needs on their way to and from school or college
- To support vulnerable adults on their journeys to and from day centres, training courses and other venues
- To undertake a variety of tasks which support the Transport Provision team
- You will spend your working time either travelling on a mini bus, a taxi or a car, or climbing in and out of the vehicle, securing passengers and their equipment safely, or sitting/standing at a school or centre, waiting for the passengers to arrive
- Numerous opportunities available

**What is required?**
- Previous experience working with, or caring for, children or adults, in some capacity
- Knowledge of how to operate and secure items such as booster seats, wheel chairs and similar devices
- Basic first aid training
