Waking Night Support Worker

**Location**: Tadley, Bramley, Burghfield (West Berkshire)
**Salary**: Starting from £27,000 per year (£13.66/hour) based on 38 hours per week
**About the Role**
As a **Waking Night Support Worker**, you’ll be responsible for safeguarding and supporting children overnight in one of our residential homes. You will ensure a **safe, calm, and nurturing environment**, attend to children’s emotional and physical needs, and complete essential tasks to prepare the home for the following day.
This is a **lone working role**, ideal for someone with **maturity, resilience**, and the ability to work independently.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide overnight supervision, care, and emotional support
- Be alert to signs of distress or safeguarding concerns and report appropriately- Support personal care and hygiene routines where required- Keep accurate records and complete admin tasks during the shift- Clean and prepare the home for the following day- Communicate effectively with day staff and management handovers- Remain vigilant and responsive to any incidents or needs through the night
**What We’re Looking For**
- Experience working with children or vulnerable people is preferred
- Confidence working independently through the night
- Calm, reliable, and highly observant
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- A full UK driving licence is desirable (not essential due to staff transport)
