Service Care Construction are looking to recruit an Arboricultural Officer to work for an association within the Hammersmith and Fulham area.

This role is on a 12 Month Contract.

Duties of the role will include
- To support the Arboricultural Officers undertaking the Council's tree maintenance, husbandry and planting programs.
- Undertake independent tree inspections on council owned land.
- To assist in monitoring the performance of Contractors in all tree work including the care, maintenance and planting of trees, and to ensure specifications are fully complied with.
- To assist in giving advice on matters involving trees and attend emergencies as necessary.
- To undertake minor planned works and emergency works on trees such as removing basal growth and clearing small branches and trees.
- To support the Team manager and Arboricultural Officers with the environmental aspects of the Council's tree stock, particularly the proactive management of the impact of climate change.
- To work in partnership with residents and stakeholders.
- Respond to requests for information in person, on the phone and in writing.
- Constructively take part in meetings, training, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with your own development and that of your role.
- Use information technology (Asset Management Systems) to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
- A level 2 qualification in arboriculture, or relevant working experience in Arboriculture.
- A valid driving licence with no convictions or penalties on the licence.
- Good tree and pest identification, knowledge of tree surgery operations and industry best practice, and knowledge of Health and Safety.
- Ability to undertake inspections of Council tree stock, assess tree condition and ensure their health and safety, in accordance with the Council's statutory and tree management policy obligations.
- At least 2 years' experience working within the Highways department or equivalent.
- Must be capable of working most hours on lone site visits at locations across the Borough daily in all seasons, with a positive and willing attitude.
- Ability to organise own workload.
